Mirjan Gjergjevica

Mirjan Gjergjevica is a self-taught film director based in Corfu, Greece, making documentaries, short films, music videos and commercials about memory, identity and place.

Born in Albania in 1989 and raised in Greece, Mirjan studied acting and video art at IEK Corfu and the Ionian University, then learned the craft on television crews before founding Mirjan Films, a Corfu-based studio for commercials, short films and documentaries.

The work keeps returning to cultural identity, heritage and history, and leans on image, music and sound as much as on words.

The Jews of Corfu (2022), made independently over seventeen months with no outside funding, was selected for the 24th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and the 19th San Francisco Greek Film Festival, and was covered by ERT and LiFO. It was followed by Sound of Repentance (2025), a psychological short film written, directed and shot by Mirjan.
